Our Menus
Whilst we maintain a core of favourite dishes the style or saucing may change without notice so the menus you find here are meant as a guide only.
You are guaranteed of one thing however, the Head Chef David will have sourced everything as locally as possible and from sustainable sources.
We collect wild mushrooms from the forest in the season and we will cook your catch for you if you are one of the many fishing parties who stay with us!
Wines
We have worked very hard to produce a comprehensive and exciting wine list, working closely with our wine supplier 'Hennings Wine Merchants' to provide wines we feel best match our style of food.
We have tried hundreds of wines to whittle it down to the selection you see here.
We are constantly updating and evaluating the contents of our wine list. If you feel there is a particular wine that we are missing or you would like to see on our list please let us know.
It is important to us at Bertie’s that you have fantastic food coupled with excellent wines in a warm and friendly environment.

Our gesture towards the economic climate in 2008 saw the launch of our first "Simply" menu and it has become a very important part of our menu!
We use the same quality ingredients but the dishes are less complex.
The menu now includes a glass of our excellent Chilean Sauvignon Blanc or Merlot within the price.
This menu is available Monday to Friday only.

Our a la carte menu features chef's strong reliance on good, local producers and allows us to demonstrate a depth of flavour and a lightness of saucing to complement each dish.
We hope you will find an interesting blend of textures and flavours to suit all tastes.
You will see little fish on this menu as this features on the "Specials Board".
All the favourites from a doorstep sandwich to "fish and chips" or perhaps just a bowl of pasta?
Simple, wholesome dishes which are served quickly for those on a lunch-break from work.
Our Specials Board changes with the seasons and varies according to what the fishmonger, butcher, game-dealer and farmer have on offer!
